- If your DP is different, you must give your current depository a Debit Instruction Slip (DIS) in order to transfer your existing shareholding to the new depository. Transferring it from one to the other requires two days. You must submit an application for the closure of your demat account after the transfer of shares. You can submit another application for the trading account’s closure after closing the demat account.
